BlackBerry's latest proprietary apps will be made available on rival phone-makers' platforms, it has been confirmed, after unveiling them as part of the BlackBerry Experience Suite at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015.

The unbundled software from the BlackBerry 10 OS will bring the likes of the BlackBerry Hub to Apple's iOS, Google's Android and Microsoft Windows Phone OS.

Hub is a unified inbox for emails, text messages, instant messages, Tweets, Facebook updates, BlackBerry Messenger messages and any other sort of communique you can think of.

Users can respond to these without leaving BlackBerry Hub and going into the individual app that was used to send the original message.

It is a useful and key piece of the BlackBerry 10 OS, but the new software showcased at MWC all seemed to be aimed at business, rather than the likes of you and me.

With that in mind, we asked Jeff Gadway Director of Product Marketing at BlackBerry's Enterprise division, if plans are afoot to bring the best BlackBerry 10 apps to consumers too.

Gadway said: "Yes, we see it as an opportunity to take the crown jewels of the BlackBerry Experience: like the Hub and our security and make them available on all platforms.
